Manchester City have completed the signing of Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri in a £31 million deal as manager Pep Guardiola looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 24-year-old Algerian international has signed a contract until 2030 and will be available for selection in the group stage of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. City begin their campaign in the expanded tournament against Moroccan side Wydad AC on 18 June.
Ait-Nouri joined Wolves permanently in 2021 for £14.9 million from French club Angers, following a successful loan spell.
He made 41 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists, helping Wolves avoid relegation.
He becomes Wolves’ second major departure this summer, following the £62.5 million transfer of striker Matheus Cunha to Manchester United.
Ait-Nouri’s arrival adds to City’s summer business, with a £46.3 million deal already agreed for AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. The reigning Premier League champions spent over £200 million in the January transfer window and continue to invest heavily.
Speaking after completing the move, Ait-Nouri said.
“City are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true. I’m excited about working with and learning from Pep Guardiola and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world-class group of players.”
City are also in advanced talks to sign English goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Chelsea. The 33-year-old, who has been third choice at Stamford Bridge for the past four seasons, is expected to arrive before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The move comes as veteran goalkeeper Scott Carson prepares to leave City when his contract expires this summer.
