The Future Conference 2025 will take place on 19 June, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss Africa’s housing challenges and sustainable urban development.
According to Sonia Somuvie, Managing Director of CoreSphere, the focus on sustainability in housing aligns with the urgent need for climate-resilient cities. “This conference will serve as a platform to explore innovative solutions to Africa’s housing crisis while ensuring that urban development remains environmentally viable,” Somuvie said.
CoreSphere Nigeria Limited is organising the event, which will be held at The Wells Carlton Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria. Policymakers, developers, and environmental experts will attend.
With urbanisation increasing and a housing deficit affecting many parts of the continent, the theme for this year’s conference is “Sustainable Cities – The Future of Housing.”
Key topics to be explored include affordable housing, climate change resilience, and public-private partnerships in urban development.
Experts like Senator Ned Nwoko, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment, and Hon. Teseer Ugbor, Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, will lead discussions on policy frameworks that could transform African cities.
One of the standout sessions will be a panel on “Sustainable Housing: The Intersection of Climate Action and Urban Growth.” Somuvie believes that addressing both climate challenges and housing demands through strategic planning is crucial for Africa’s future. “This is an opportunity to learn about the latest in green technologies, urban planning, and effective governance structures,” she added.
The Future Conference 2025 also features an impressive line-up of real estate developers, investors, and ESG consultants, offering attendees access to cutting-edge housing solutions. With a mix of live case studies, investor-pitch sessions, and policy roundtables, the event will facilitate valuable networking opportunities.
CoreSphere aims to bridge the gap between policy, business, and innovation, ensuring that the event not only informs but also leads to actionable outcomes. “Our goal is to drive concrete policy changes and forge partnerships that will support sustainable urban development across the continent,” Somuvie said.
