Jurgen Klopp open to becoming new Real Madrid manager

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is reportedly willing to leave his role at Red Bull to become the next Real Madrid manager.

The German tactician stepped away from coaching last summer after nearly a decade at Liverpool but is now said to be open to returning to the dugout. According to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, Klopp is growing weary of his global football operations role at Red Bull and would be open to holding talks with Real Madrid.

The news follows Real Madrid’s humiliating exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Arsenal. After a 3-0 loss at the Emirates in the first leg, Madrid fell 2-1 at home, sealing a 5-1 aggregate defeat. The result has cast serious doubt over the future of current manager Carlo Ancelotti, who is now strongly linked with a summer departure.

With Kylian Mbappe struggling to find form under the Italian boss, speculation around Ancelotti’s position has intensified.

Ancelotti’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu runs until 2026, but the Italian recently hinted at a potential exit. Following a shambolic defeat to Arsenal.

“It could be this year or next year when my contract runs out. There’s no problem with it. But when I am done here, I will be grateful to this club. It could be tomorrow, in one year, or 10 years, but I will be grateful to this club. And that’s it. Full stop.”

With uncertainty looming over Ancelotti’s future, Klopp’s name has quickly emerged as a top contender for the role, setting the stage for a potential high-profile return to management.
