Jummai Abalaka is the co-founder and chief operating officer of PricePally, a pioneering food-tech company transforming how urban Nigerians access quality, affordable food. Since its inception in 2019, PricePally has become a key player in Nigeria’s agriculture and logistics landscape, leveraging technology to connect consumers directly with farmers and wholesalers across Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt.
With a professional background in architecture and an MBA to complement her business acumen, Jummai brings a rare blend of structural thinking and operational agility to her leadership. Prior to PricePally, she spent over a decade running an informal food distribution network, sourcing produce from her hometown for friends and professionals in Lagos. Her journey began in a farming family where she understood the value of fresh produce early. While working as a trained architect in Lagos, she found herself informally sourcing food from home due to cost and quality issues—eventually turning that side hustle into a movement that would become PricePally. What began as a personal response to food affordability challenges evolved into a proof of concept for a scalable business—ultimately forming the foundation for PricePally’s mission.
In her role as COO, Jummai oversees end-to-end operations, from sourcing to logistics and last-mile delivery. As Chief Operating Officer, she is responsible for maintaining and driving operational results within Pricepally through skilled communication, effective leadership and business expertise. She spurs company growth, maintains key operational procedures, creates new processes and ensures day to day operational excellence in customer delivery service. Her day-to-day involves aligning cross-functional teams, optimising supply chains, and ensuring service consistency at scale. She has played a crucial role in building the operational systems that enable PricePally to serve thousands of households and businesses efficiently each month.
Jummai is known for her pragmatic leadership style—combining deep empathy with strong execution. Her experience managing construction sites early in her career as an architect honed her ability to lead diverse teams, resolve conflict, and drive results in complex environments. She credits her adaptability, discipline, and strong communication skills as central to her success.
Beyond business, Jummai is a strong advocate for food security, women’s economic empowerment, and social equity. She is actively engaged in community service initiatives involving orphanages, widows, and women farmers, and she provides mentorship through faith-based networks. She is also a member of the AgInnovation Club under Nigeria’s Ministry of Agriculture.
Jummai has participated in notable industry events and accelerator programmes, and she continues to advocate for sustainable, tech-enabled solutions to Nigeria’s food access challenges.
