iPhone 17 larger screen, same size as iPhone 17 Pro

Date:

The iPhone 17 could match the iPhone 17 Pro’s 6.3-inch screen size

A new rumor claims that the iPhone 17 will have a larger screen than the current iPhone 16, making it the same size as the iPhone 16 Pro.

In May 2025, display analyst Ross Young claimed that the iPhone 17 would feature a 6.3-inch screen, compared to the 6.1-inches of the iPhone 16. Now regular, even prolific, leaker “Digital Chat Station” agrees.

“The screen size of iPhone 17 has changed to 6.27/6.3 inches,” says the leaker (in translation). The first figure listed is the more precise diagonal size of the screen, but it will be referred to as 6.3-inches.

There is no further detail regarding Apple in the leaker’s report on Chinese social media site Weibo. However, if accurate, it would mean that the new iPhone 17 would match the screen size of the current iPhone 16 Pro.

Based in part on how case maker Spigen has seemingly let slip that it has a case that will fit both models, the iPhone 17 may also match the iPhone 17 Pro. Case makers routinely produce cases based on the most likely rumors, so Spigen’s accidental post online is not definitive.

Plus while the rumors of a 6.3-inch screen are not new, they are disputed.

if it’s correct that both the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro will feature the same size screen, then there is precedent for it. Back in 2023, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro also had the same screen size as each other.

Note that “Digital Chat Station” has been accurate in the past, although he or she now seems to post in volume so perhaps only the successful claims are remembered.
