In the Dock: Persistent Southampton thief sent to jail

NEIL HARVEY60, of Waterloo Road, Southampton, admitted three charges of breaching a sexual harm prevention order after he deleted Whatsapp message conversations between January 2022, and May 2025, and used disappearing messages and deleted a Facebook message, on May 23, 2025. He will appear before Southampton crown Court on June 17.

JADE PAGE32, of Shamblehurst Lane, Hedge End, admitted a charge of assault by beating after assaulting a man in Wildern Court, Hedge End, on August 11, 2024. She was handed a six-month conditional discharge and no order for costs was made.

JAMES FOWLER60, of Lower Pennington Lane, Lymington, pleaded guilty to a charge of drug driving after he was caught on North Road, Beaulieu with 170 micrograms of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood in his system on December 7, 2024. He was banned from driving for 18 months and must pay a £850 fine. He must also pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £340 surcharge.

JOSHUA PHILLIPS30, of Cromwell Road, Southampton, admitted a racially-aggravated charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress towards a police officer on Brookvale Road, Southampton on October 22, 2024. He was ordered to pay £80 compensation and must complete 80 hours of unpaid work in a year.

KIERON SLACK-TRAVERS29, of South Front, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft after he stole mackerel, prawns and chocolate worth £126 from Sainsbury’s in Southampton on May 30. He was ordered to pay £126 compensation and was handed a three-week prison sentence as he is a “persistent thief who has a flagrant disregard for people and their property” and he has failed to comply with serving sentences within the community.
