Image appeal after racially aggravated abuse on Fareham bus

The incident took place on a First Bus number 28 service between Fareham and Whiteley.

It is reported that a man was racially abused by another man between 7.20am and 7.30am on Wednesday, June 18.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The man is described as white, of medium build, aged between 30 and 40, with short blonde hair and a short beard.

He was wearing high-visibility clothing and carrying a rucksack.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us.

“We’d also urge the victim of this incident to please make contact with us at the earliest opportunity.

“Additionally, if you were on the same bus and witnessed anything of the incident, or have any mobile phone footage which could aid our investigation, please call us.”
