Ibom Air has announced the resumption of flight operations to and from Enugu with effect from Sunday May 4, 2024.
The follows the reopening of Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), which comes after the issuance of an official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) on April 28, 2025 (Ref: A0126/25 NOTAMC A0125/25), confirming that Runway 08/26 at Enugu Airport has resumed normal operations.
Consequently, all scheduled Ibom Air flights to and from Enugu onwards have been reinstated.
A statement by the Management of the airline and signed by Annie Essienette, the Company’s General Manager, marketing and communications stated that “our Customer Service Team is actively reaching out to affected passengers to facilitate rebooking and alternative travel arrangements where necessary.”
While appreciating “the patience and understanding of our esteemed passengers during the temporary disruption,” it added that the airline remains “fully committed to providing the safe, reliable, and on-time service that our passengers expect.”
Last week, the airline suspended flight operations to and from Enugu citing ” an ongoing maintenance works at the Enugu airport runway.”
It stated, “We have been advised that Enugu Airport (ENU) will be temporarily closed from 23:00hrs on the 18th of April, until 27th April 2025, to allow for essential runway maintenance works.
“In the light of this, we have suspended all flights to and from Enugu within the affected period.
“Our Customer Contact Centre will reach out to all passengers already booked on affected flights”, it stated.
The Management advised “passengers to explore alternative travel options via our desks at Lagos (LOS), Abuja (ABV), or Enugu (ENU) airports, ” while it regretted the inconvenience this disruption may cause its customers.
“The safety of our passengers remains our top priority, and we look forward to resuming full operations in Enugu once the runway maintenance is completed, ” it added.
