Last night revealed yet another abrupt Islander departure. Cierra was removed from the villa during Sunday’s episode, following the release of a few of the influencer’s former social media posts which included racial slurs. The sudden elimination left Nic single ahead of the recoupling — a turn of events that led he and Olandria to revisit their momentary “Love house” fling in the final week.
Seeing as this season seems to be pushing the duo to get together, they decide their potential relationship is fated, meant to be. Although, that level of detached positivity may not be as easy for a viewer — especially when the show has now removed two separate Islanders without an explicit explanation from the franchise; and there are no official couples going into the closing episodes and finale set for Sunday, July 13.
While some fear the show may be at the mercy of online reviewers and vicious comments sections, many have been left wondering: Do they vet these cast members at all? Austin Shepard faced similar backlash regarding racist reposts circulating on TikTok. But despite the internet discourse throughout his time on the show, he was not shuffled out of the villa or cut from the cameras.
What to expect from episode 31:
Tonight, the Islanders face something much scarier than a recoupling: parenthood. As the annual baby compatibility challenge begins, the duos are forced to either work together or resign themselves to the incessant crying of a realistic plastic child. At the end, both viewers and contestants find out who deserves a reward for their parenting skills.
