Gateway Games 2024: NOA takes national value charter campaign to NSF

Date:

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) extended its nationwide sensitisation campaign on the National Value Charter at the 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged Gateway Games 2024, held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.

Spearheaded by the South West Zonal Directorate in collaboration with the NOA Ogun State Directorate, the agency set up awareness booths and deployed trained mobilisation officers throughout the venue to educate attendees on the principles and pillars of the National Value Charter.

As athletes from across Nigeria paraded during the colourful opening day, NOA teams distributed flyers, posters, and branded materials showcasing key values such as patriotism, discipline, integrity, social justice, and service.

Officials explained that the campaign was designed to engage the youth in a relaxed yet impactful setting, using the festival as an opportunity to highlight the charter as a collective call to responsibility for both leaders and citizens.

Throughout the event, NOA field officers interacted with spectators, athletes, and officials, conducting value-based games, impromptu quizzes, and media briefings to reinforce the message of civic responsibility.

Often dubbed Nigeria’s “Olympics,” the National Sports Festival draws thousands of athletes from the 36 states and the FCT, making the 2024 edition in Ogun State an ideal platform for national reorientation.

NOA’s presence at the Gateway Games underscores its commitment to embedding civic education into public spaces and using major national events to promote unity, ethical conduct, and a renewed sense of national consciousness.
