Florida lands commitment from Ohio transfer guard AJ Brown

Date:

The Florida Gators make sense in a lot of ways for former Ohio Bobcats shooting guard AJ Brown.

First and foremost, the Gators are the defending NCAA National Champions. No offense to Ohio, but going from MAC action to playing in the SEC for a three-time National Champion is a big deal.

Brown likely entered the portal for a chance like this, and now he’s getting it. It was announced on Thursday morning that Brown has committed to Todd Golden and the Gators.

Not only was Florida a good basketball fit for Brown, but it’s a good fit family-wise as well. His younger brother, Isaiah Brown, was a freshman for the Gators this past season. The younger Brown is a former four-star shooting guard recruit.
