Mohammed Abubakar, Minister of Defence, has called on Nigerian troops to intensify efforts in the fight against insecurity, declaring it is time to bring all threats to peace to an end.
During an operational visit to Dukku Barracks in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, the Minister met with troops to assess ongoing military operations and boost morale.
His visit, according to a statement signed by his media aide, Mati Ali, underscores the government’s commitment to ending insecurity, especially in the North West.
Addressing the soldiers, Badaru conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s appreciation for their bravery and dedication in combating banditry and other criminal activities.
“The President and the nation are profoundly grateful for your unwavering commitment,” he said.
He praised the troops for their courage and professionalism and challenged them to remain steadfast in their mission.
“It is time to finish all aspects of insecurity,” he charged. The troops responded with an enthusiastic, “Yes! Sir!”, a moment the Minister described as inspiring and affirming of their readiness to restore peace.
Badaru also assured the soldiers of the Federal Government’s continued support, pledging improved welfare and adequate resources to ensure they are well-equipped for their operations.
