EasyJet launches new city break route from Southampton



The new route to Barcelona, Spain has been launched by EasyJet on a twice-weekly service as part of a wider rollout of 22 new routes across the UK for winter 2025.

The route will begin on October 27, with flights operating on Mondays and Fridays, offering passengers convenient options for both short getaways and longer stays.

Ali Gayward, EasyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be adding a new route from Southampton to Barcelona, providing greater direct connectivity for our customers in the South whilst offering great value for money and always aiming to make travel easy.”

Flights start from £32.99 one way and are available to book now on EasyJet.com and via the airline’s mobile app.

EasyJet holidays is also offering city break packages to Barcelona for winter 2025, including flights and hotel stays.

All packages are covered by the company’s Ultimate Flexibility policy, which includes the option to change bookings, a refund guarantee, and a best price guarantee.

EasyJet already flies to eight destinations from Southampton, including Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast International, Faro, Geneva, Glasgow, Malaga, and Paris Orly.

The addition of Barcelona brings the total to nine.

EasyJet carried more than 82 million passengers in 2023, with more than 11 million travelling for business.

The airline operates more than 300 aircraft on nearly 1,000 routes to more than 155 airports in 35 countries.

Barcelona is known for its beaches, architecture, Mediterranean cuisine, and lively culture, making it a popular choice for both leisure and business travellers.
