In the 2023 reboot of Frasier, the celebrated psychiatrist returns to Boston to reconnect with son Freddy and teach at Harvard.
But while he is living where Cheers was set he has not made it back to the old bar and now frequents university hangout Mahoney’s instead.
However, in episode five of the new show, Frasier sent fans wild with a reference to Cheers‘ tagline.
While discussing his struggles to fit in throughout his life, Frasier says that though he visited the same bar every night he still felt like he didn’t belong.
In response his new colleague and old university friend Alan tells him “nobody knew your name”.
The reference has left fans wanting more, hopeful of both Cheers and Frasier cameos in the reboot, which sadly so far don’t look likely.
