Cardinals ace throws his first complete game against former team

Date:

The St. Louis Cardinals sure are glad that starting pitcher Erick Fedde isn’t with the Washington Nationals anymore, the team he spent the first six seasons of his career with.

Fedde hurled the first complete game of his career on Friday against his former team in a 10-0 win for the Cardinals.

Dating back to last season, Fedde has now shut out the Nationals in 16 straight innings, and it feels that he looks forward to facing the team that released him after the 2022 season.

Fedde allowed six hits and struck out eight batters in his complete game shutout, and it was obviously the best start of the season for him.

He’d not pitched past the sixth inning all season and had struck out five or more batters only once all season, and that came against the Houston Astros on April 15.

With the win, the Cardinals have now won six games in a row, and they are starting to look like they could be real contenders in the NL Central.
