The RNLI Calshot Lifeboat crew were contacted by Solent Coastguard to help two people on a 24ft boat that had run aground near Ashlett Creek near Fawley.
Initially planning to wait for the tide, their situation became more urgent when the boat started taking on water.
The coastguard then called for the launch of the D Class ILB lifeboat to recover the individuals.
