Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has appointed renowned international development expert, Sa’id Alkali Kori, as Honorary Special Adviser on International Relations and Development.
Dr. Kori will also serve as Technical Advisor to the Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum (LCBGF), which Governor Buni chairs.
The appointment, announced through an official statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government, Shuaibu Abdullahi, highlights Dr. Kori’s extensive credentials and his potential to drive progress in the region.
The statement reads: “Dr. Kori’s appointment to this exalted office is in recognition of his past records of performance, dedication, and personal commitment to the development of the state.
His vast international network and proven leadership will significantly enhance our engagement with multilateral partners and accelerate progress across the Lake Chad Basin.”
Dr. Sa’id Alkali Kori, a distinguished architect and development finance expert, holds a Doctorate from the University of Liverpool, a Master’s degree from the University of Salford, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Yola.
His professional portfolio includes roles as Chairman and Group CEO of Thinklab Group Limited, former General Manager at Family Home Funds, and lecturer at the University of Liverpool and Yobe State University.
He has worked across 34 countries, gaining invaluable insights into global development diplomacy.
The Governor reaffirms his administration’s commitment to leveraging world-class expertise to foster sustainable development and international collaboration, particularly within the Lake Chad Basin region.
Dr. Kori’s appointment is expected to strengthen Yobe State’s international partnerships and enhance the effectiveness of the Lake Chad Basin Governors Forum in addressing regional challenges.
