Brad Pitt has broken his silence about finalising his divorce from Angelina Jolie after eight years.
What started as a whirlwind love story after they met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, going on to tie the knot and welcome six children together, ended abruptly in 2019.
The 61-year-old Hollywood star was asked by GQ if he felt “relief” when the former couple legally settled their split in December 2024 during an interview for his new movie, F1.

“No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing,” he told the outlet on Wednesday.
“Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
The definitive comment from Pitt comes after their marriage finally came to a close in 2024.
Jolie had initially filed for the dissolution of their marriage in September 2016.

Both parties have since moved on, with Jolie, 49, devoting herself to family and work, while Pitt also working and now dating jewellery designer Ines de Ramon.
“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” her lawyer, James Simon, told Page Six at the time.

The former couple share six kids: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.
However, it has been reported that none of the children are on speaking terms with Pitt as several of them have even opted to drop his last name.

Pitt and his new girlfriend went public for the first time when they attended the 2024 British Grand Prix, a race won by Hamilton in his final season with Mercedes.
During the GQ interview the reporter asked if it was a ‘deliberate’ decision to make their first appearance as a couple at an F1 race.

“No, dude, it’s not that calculated,” Pitt laughed.
“If you’re living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you’re living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.”
Pitt stars in the movie F1, alongside Hamilton and Damson Idris, and in the film he really does get behind the wheel and drive.
