Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez mourns the loss of her mother, Kim Fernandez



Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez‘s mother, Kim Fernandez, passed away today. She was hospitalised on March 24 at Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Bandra, Mumbai due to a stroke and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Jacqueline’s mother always stayed away from the limelight and was known to support Jacqueline through thick and thin. Despite medical efforts, she could not be saved. Jacqueline, who shares a close bond with her mother, is yet to release an official statement. The funeral and last rites are expected to be held privately, with close friends and family in attendance. On March 24, upon hearing the news of her mother, Jacqueline Fernandez immediately flew back home to be by her mother’s side. Kim was admitted to the ICU after a heart stroke. On Wednesday, the actress was spotted by paparazzi at the hospital entrance. She arrived in a white salwar kameez with a black mask covering her face, and was seen quickly making her way inside the building.

According to a close source, the actress was scheduled to perform at the IPL ceremony on March 26 in Guwahati, featuring the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, she opted out to remain by her mother’s side during her recovery in the ICU. The source told HT, “Jacqueline’s mother is still in the ICU recovering. As the family awaits further updates from the doctors, Jacqueline has chosen to be by her mother’s side and, unfortunately, will be missing performing at the IPL ceremony.” ​

Many celebrities were seen visiting the hospital including her Kick co-star, Salman Khan. Kim Fernandez had been unwell for some time. As per Masala.com, in the past as well, she had suffered a stroke and was hospitalised in Bahrain in 2022.
