Fans have started to dig into Malik Beasley’s social media activity amid the gambling-related investigation into the Detroit Pistons guard.
On Sunday, a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania emerged implicating Beasley in an ongoing investigation being conducted by the U.S. District Attorney’s Office. The allegations against Beasley involved “gambling related to NBA games and prop bets.”

Beasley, through his lawyer, issued a statement asserting his innocence until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But that did not stop fans from already issuing a guilty verdict via the court of public opinion.
Fans unearthed various clips to try to pinpoint any example of Beasley potentially altering his play for the sake of a sports bet. One instance fans noticed was when Beasley went the full length of the floor for a layup during a Minnesota Timberwolves-Los Angeles Clippers game in February 2021.
Beasley scored seven points over the game’s final 43 seconds. The last-second layup just so happened to cover the game’s spread for the Timberwolves.
