Barnbrook Systems secures new international partnerships

Date:

Barnbrook Systems has announced distribution agreements across the Asia-Pacific region following a trade mission promoting its E:BAG technology, which suppresses and extinguishes lithium-ion battery fires.

Managing director Andrew Barnett and Richard Dunn from Flair travelled more than 26,000 miles across the United Arab Emirates, China, South Korea and Australia, attending conferences, trade shows and meetings.

Andrew said: “The trip was an unbelievable success and demonstrated that the appetite for collaboration overseas is stronger than ever.

“Our trip showed that there is no reason to fear collaboration with partners overseas despite some of the current international geopolitics making headlines.”

During the trip, the pair secured distribution partnerships for the E:BAG system in each region.

Additional agreements were also signed for Barnbrook’s fire suppression actuators, used in extinguishers, sprinklers and similar systems.

Andrew added: “Much of our trip was dedicated to spreading word about our E:BAG system and the way it can counteract lithium-ion batteries fires which are becoming an increasing threat in multiple sectors worldwide.

“It was a privilege to find like-minded people, dynamic industry leaders and forward-thinking organisations whose passion for innovation, safety and collaboration match our own.

“We believe business can transcend borders and are excited by the possibilities from our new distribution partnerships in the APAC region.”

The new partnerships follow the recent opening of Barnbrook’s Americas office in Fairfax, Virginia, and its European office in Prague.

Barnbrook is a family-owned business with nearly 50 employees, serving the aerospace, rail, defence, maritime and commercial sectors.

Flair, a technology firm based in Reading, operates from Barnbrook’s headquarters in Fareham.

The E:BAG is the first ‘smart’ system of its kind, using nanotechnology to suppress and extinguish lithium-ion battery fires without the need for water.

Andrew and Richard highlighted its capabilities during the trade mission using a demonstration model nicknamed ‘Eddie the E:BAG’.

Barnbrook’s distributor in Australia will showcase the technology at the Australian Fire Authorities Council conference in Perth from August 26 to 29.
