Nigeria’s teenage boxing prodigy and University of Lagos Law undergraduate, Raheem “Badoo” Animashaun, will return to the ring on April 26th at GOtv Boxing Night 33, where he is set to face Benin Republic’s Gbodja Jean Coffi in a highly anticipated clash.
The event, scheduled to take place at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos, will feature seven explosive bouts.
Badoo, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising young boxing stars, enters the contest with a perfect professional record of 14 wins from 14 fights, including eight knockouts.
The teenage sensation was crowned Best Boxer at the last two editions of the GOtv Boxing Night and made headlines at GOtv Boxing Night 32 after stopping veteran Hammed “Ese” Ganiyu via technical knockout.
Now, Badoo faces a sterner test in the form of Gbodja Jean Coffi, nicknamed “Lit the Fire,” an experienced fighter who has won two of his last three bouts, including a recent outing against Congo’s Chadrack Kalala Mbenga.
“Badoo is one of the most exciting young boxers in Nigeria today. This matchup against a seasoned opponent like Coffi is exactly the kind of test that shows how much he’s growing,” said Bamidele Johnson, Chief Operating Officer of Flykite Productions.
“It’s the kind of contest GOtv Boxing Night was created to showcase — a blend of youth, skill, and top-tier competition.”
Also on the fight card is an international lightweight bout between Ghana’s Emmanuel Otoo and Nigeria’s Tosin “Sojar Boy” Osaigbovo.
Other notable matchups include William “Kaki” Amosu vs Emmanuel “Ability Famous” Abimbola (Light Welterweight), Segun Gbobaniyi, Sodiq Oyakojo, Tobiloba Ijomoni, and Sodiq Adeleke in national bouts across various weight classes.
