Atlanta’s 404 Day: A Celebration of the City’s Culture

For years, April 4 has been Atlanta’s unofficial holiday, 404 Day. Named after the city’s first (and most iconic) area code, the day has long been an occasion to celebrate the culture, community, and influence of Atlanta.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever. At festivals, parties, and cultural events all weekend, Atlantans will gather to celebrate the city. We’ve got a roundup of some of the 404 Days happening across the city.

Friday, April 4

A 404 Day Fireside Chat with David Cummings
Atlanta Tech Village, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
David Cummings, the founder of Atlanta Tech Village and a cornerstone of the city’s startup ecosystem, will explore how Atlanta’s tech scene has leveled up and where the Southeast is headed next. RSVP here.

404 Day Festival
Piedmont Park, noon to 9 p.m.
Celebrate 404 Day with music, art, food, drinks, and a dance party from 100 vendors and across multiple stages! The music lineup includes Babey Drew, Didactic, BOGI, and more. The festival is free but will serve as a fundraiser for Women in Film and Television of Atlanta. RSVP at 404day.com.

404 Day at Spelman Museum
Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, noon to 8 p.m.
Spelman Museum is extending their hours in honor of 404 Day! Come see their current exhibition Amanda Williams: We Say What Black Is and enjoy music from DJ Salah Ananse from 5 to 8 p.m. This family-friendly event is free. Get more details here.

Sine Die Block Party
Liberty Plaza, 1 p.m.
The Emerging 200 of Atlanta and other partners are celebrating culture and community in the heart of the city with live music, food trucks, performers, elected officials, and more as this year’s General Assembly session draws to a close. Event info here.

Cruise the 404
Various locations, 1:30 p.m. to late
Monday Night Brewing is hopping on the Atlanta Beer Bus and hitting ATL’s best spots, drinking 404 Atlanta Lager along the way. Meet them at each spot: Park Bar at 1:30 p.m., Cypress St. at 2:30 p.m., Ladybird at 3:30 p.m., Breaker Breaker at 4:30 p.m., Flatiron at 5:30 p.m., and end the night at Monday Night Garage with a 4.04-mile group run, pizza, wings, and $4.04 of 404. Tech Back the Block Party
The Interlock, 2 to 8 p.m.
The Trap Music Museum is taking over the Interlock for a block party like no other, fusing culture, community, and Atlanta’s tech ecosystem. RSVP for free at 404weekend.com.

Atlanta Creators’ Lounge
Enigma @ Underground, 6 p.m. to midnight
Film, music, and streaming collide at this electrifying night of industry insights, creative connections, and live music. The event will include three panels covering how to create and sustain homegrown content, film and production in Atlanta, and Atlanta women in music. Grab your tickets here

404 Night/Fireworks Friday
Coolray Field, 7:05 p.m.
Celebrate 404 Day with the Gwinnett Stripers as they take on the Nashville Soundswith appearances from the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Vibe, and more! Grab your tickets here.

2Chainz Live
The Stave Room, 8 p.m. to midnight
Atlanta rap legend 2Chainz will be closing out 404 Day with the afterparty to end all afterparties. RSVP for free here.

404 Party
Crazy Atlanta, 8 p.m. to late  
Close out 404 Day by dancing the night away with music from Kilo Ali, KaleBree, Pretty Rico Bandz, and more! Grab your tickets here.

Weekend Events

Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6

404 Day Parade
Peachtree Street, Saturday 10 a.m. to noon
The first annual 404 Day parade is taking over Peachtree Street! Assembly begins at 8 a.m. at the Civic Center MARTA Station and will travel along Peachtree Street from Ralph McGill Boulevard to Marietta Street, ending at Underground Atlanta. Learn more at 404weekend.com.

404 Day Weekend Festival
Underground Atlanta, Saturday noon to 8 p.m.
The party continues on Saturday with an insane lineup of music all day long, including headliners Yung L.A., F.L.Y., and Rich Kidz. Get your tickets at 404dayfestival.com.

Caffeinated Chaos
Schaf Shop, Saturday noon to 4 p.m.
Schaf Shop at My Sister’s Room is hosting the biggest coffee shop rave in Atlanta with music from BOGI and Babey Drew. RSVP for free here.

Beats on the Beltline
Fourth Ward Skatepark, Saturday 2 to 10 p.m.
Atlanta’s EDM community will meet up to enjoy a day in the park, picnic, and flow to dance music all day long! This free event is family- and dog-friendly. Find out more at this link.

Late Night Pop Up
Crazy Atlanta, Saturday 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

404 Community Day
Washington Park Natatorium, Sunday noon to 3 p.m.
The Atlanta Beltline and nine Atlanta colleges and universities have partnered for a free family-friendly community day, including kickball, flag football, kiddie soccer, exercise classes, an obstacle course, and games!

404 Day Celebrity Softball Game
Central Parc Stadium, Sunday noon to 6 p.m.
Celebrate Atlanta’s vibrant culture and community as your favorite Atlanta celebrities and influencers compete in a fun and friendly game of softball for a good cause. RSVP for free here.
