Amid the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan and Mawra Hocane images have been removed from the album cover in which they cast.
Pakistani actors
The tension between India and Pakistan still continues to grow. Despite the tension, popular Pakistani actors Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Mawra Hocane have been removed from the posters of the Bollywood films.
Movie names
These include Raees, Kapoor & Sons, and Sanam Teri Kasam. Following Operation Sindoor, the actors voiced their strong criticism of India. Soon after, their social media was banned in India, and now their images have been removed from the posters of the films in which they were cast.
Criticism
As the tension rises between the two countries, the actors address criticism over India. Their removal appears to have caused a surge of backlash against the actors for their comment and criticism.
Harshvardhan’s reaction
Sanam Teri Kasam actor Harshvardhan Kapoor reacted with sarcasm to the removal of Mawra Hocane from the Sanam Teri Kasam posters and revealed that she might be the PR team for the removal.
Conversation
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Harshvardhan Kapoor said, No, it’s again common sense I assume, weeding is being exercised. Earlier Mawra had criticised the actor for backing out of Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
Raees
In the Shah Rukh Khan film Raees, the album cover which earlier showed Shah Rukh Khan with Mahira Khan, now features the superstar alone. This comes as there is tension between the two countries.
Mahira and Mawra
Mahira and Mawra’s names and images have been removed from film covers on streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube Music. However, the cover images of Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s Khoobsurat (2014) remain intact.
Operation Sindoor
For the unversed, Operation Sindoor was taken up by the Indian forces as a military response to the tragic incident of Pahalgam, which happened on April 22 and killed 26 people.
