Alongside celebratory shows on Apple Music live streaming, Apple is marking the first decade of its streaming service by opening a 15,000-square foot studio for musicians.
Apple Music went live on June 30, 2015, and since then has added Apple Music Classical, Spatial Audio — and opened a studio in Paris. Now Apple has announced a new complex that provides two studios, a soundstage, and facilities for artists in Los Angeles.
“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments,” Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head, said in the announcement. “With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artists to create, connect, and share their vision.”
The new Apple Music studio is a three-story building featuring more than 15,000 square feet of space that contains:
- Two radio studios with Spatial Audio
- 4,000 square foot soundstage for live events and multicam shoots
- Spatial Audio mixing room
- Photo and social media lab
- Editing room
- Green room (hospitality)
- Isolation booths for podcasters, songwriters and interviews
Connecting all of these is one A-List Corridor, and one Archive Corridor. These show artwork of images from Apple Music’s first decade.
Apple Music hubs
As well as the Paris studio that opened in 2021, the new Los Angeles facility is said to “anchor a global network of creative hubs.” Those include studio facilities in New York, Berlin, and Nashville, with Apple claiming that additional ones will open soon.
“When we first launched Beats 1 it was a leap of faith, the first live global radio station for a digital world,” Zane Lowe said. “We knew we wanted to build something special where artists could come and tell their stories and fans could feel connected.”

“Ten years on, Apple Music Radio is everything we hoped it would be,” continued Lowe. “It’s a place where we can eventize music, a place where music comes first, always. I’m just as excited for what’s to come as I was on day one.”
The company has not specified where in Los Angeles the new Apple Music studio is. Apple has been constructing facilities in Culver City, but that is of two buildings — one four-story and one five-story — reported to be for Apple TV+.
