Fawad Khan has once again hit headlines for his tweet on Operation Sindoor carried out by Indian Armed Forces. Rupali Ganguly of Anupamaa fame has slammed him for his remarks.
The political tension between India and Pakistan is currently the most discussed topic. Following the Pahalgam Terror Attack, India has implemented strict actions against the neighbouring country. The tension between the two countries has also had its impact on the film industry. As per reports, many have demanded a ban on Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s film Abir Gulaal. The actor had taken to his social media account to condemn the terror attack that took place in Pahalgam killing 26 innocent tourists. The actor also made a comment on the Operation Sindoor that did not go down well with many. Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly slammed the Pakistani actor for his remarks.
On May 7, Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor reportedly targeting 9 terror camps in Pakistan. Following the attack, Fawad Khan reportedly took to his social media account to comment on the strikes and called it a ‘shameful act’. In a note, he reportedly wrote, “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come.” Further in the post, he wrote that people should stop ‘stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words’. He said, “A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!”
Rupali Ganguly who is quite active on social media reacted to Fawad Khan’s words and wrote, “Your working in Indian films was also ‘shameful’ for us.” This has made headlines in entertainment news sites.

In another recent tweet, the Anupamaa star lauded the Indian Government’s move to halt the streaming of Pakistan-origin content in India. She shared that in times of tension, all must protect digital borders.
This evening, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting released an advisory stating that all the OTT platforms and media streaming platforms should halt streaming Pakistan-origin content from immediate effect.
