Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made waves at Cannes 2025 on her second day. For her second day, the Queen wore a dramatic black outfit by ace designer Gaurav Gupta. Her dress was complemented by a white metallic cape that opted for one-sided soft curls. With bold red lips and statement earrings, Aishwarya’s appearance embodied timeless glamour.
On her first day, Aishwarya wore a white and golden saree by Manish Malhotra and accessorised it with a diamond and ruby necklace. However, what grabbed everyone’s attention was her sindoor, which was a sign of the divorce rumour with Abhishek Bachchan. While others interpret it as a respect to India’s recent military operation, Operation Sindoor.
Manish Malhotra explained in detail about Aishwarya’s stunning outfit. The out was handwoven kadwa ivory Banarasi with golden work on the border, and she styled it with a matching sheer dupatta. Her jewellery was a dazzling display of Mozambique rubies and uncut diamonds, weighing over 500 carats and set in 18k gold.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes debut in 2002 for Devdas, dressed in a radiant yellow saree and riding a chariot, remains an iconic moment. She made her debut with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She went on to become the first Indian actress on the Cannes jury, and her subsequent appearances have been eagerly anticipated. However, there have been rumours that Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan are going through a tough time and are headed for divorce. Despite all this, the couple shut down all the rumours by celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary on April 20 with a touching family photo featuring their daughter Aaradhya.
