Over 450 marketing and sales professionals from across Africa will gather in Lagos on 14th June for the first-ever Brand Management Academy (BMA) Alumni Network ceremony.
The event marks the official launch of the BMA Alumni Network, bringing together high-achieving brand professionals trained through the Academy’s programmes. Members work in top companies across consumer goods, technology, telecommunications, finance, and manufacturing sectors.
Olusegun X. Akinyemiju, the newly elected President of the BMA Alumni Network, called the ceremony “the birth of a movement.”
“This is more than just a reunion,” he said. “It’s the launch of a strategic community of commercial leaders committed to raising the bar for business excellence across the continent.”

The ceremony follows a competitive election held in February 2025, which drew attention for its innovative use of marketing techniques. The newly elected leadership team includes Vice President Olalekan Okeowo, Social and Engagement Director Ayokunumi Kehinde, Finance Director Dorcas Akoh, and Welfare Director Ehigie Chika Ruth.
The event will feature industry leaders’ speeches, alumni’s success stories, and networking opportunities. There will also be an after-party to help members build stronger connections.
Dr. Abiodun Ajiborode, who founded the Brand Management Academy, said the Alumni Network was always part of his vision.
“We didn’t just want to train professionals, we aimed to build an ecosystem of industry leaders. A platform where like-minded individuals can grow together, challenge each other, and leave a lasting impact on the brands they serve,” he explained.
The network has plans for mentorship programmes, learning sessions, industry discussions, and community projects. President Akinyemiju said these initiatives show the group’s commitment to making a difference.
“This is a declaration of intent,” he added. “An intent to lead, to connect, and to amplify the value exceptional brand professionals bring to business and society.”
The BMA Alumni Network aims to become a major force in marketing leadership across Africa, focusing on professional development and building lasting careers in brand management.
