Academy kicks off in Lagos to promote creativity, innovation in entrepreneurship

Date:

Lalaa Consulting Limited has launched the Academy of Creativity, Innovation, and Disruption (ACID) to drive and offer new learning experiences for entrepreneurs and professionals seeking new approaches to business growth.

Demola Aderibigbe, CEO/lead innovation consultant, Lalaa Consulting, stated that his personal frustration with conventional executive and business education led him to birth ACID as an initiative to develop an innovative approach to learning.

“Following my over a decade of dynamic experience in learning and development and business consulting, I realized that the traditional way of corporate/business education was uninspiring and increasingly becoming ineffective.

“However, my employers were not willing to embrace change. So, I decided to create an approach that makes executive education more engaging, enjoyable and impactful,” he stated during the first cohort of the Academy.

According to him, the firm is pioneering a humour-based gamified consulting practice (HGCP) in Nigeria with blended scholastic research, case experience, gamification and instructional humour into an immersive learning experience.

He disclosed that the approach has yielded results, which enable the firm to compete with and outperform larger consulting firms in securing high-profile clients. According to him, ACID attracted SME founders from different fields, including real estate, healthcare, technology, media, entertainment, consulting, and hospitality.

“The sessions were highly engaging, featuring multiple interactive modes of pedagogy designed to make learning both enjoyable and impactful. Attendees participated in hands-on activities that challenged them to think differently and apply innovative strategies to their respective industries,” Aderibigbe stated.

Eliseus Olaoluwa, associate, Lalaa Consulting, stated that the annual Academy was designed to nurture creativity and innovation for SMEs sustainability. According to him, ACID was launched to help SMEs, founders to sharpen their creative and innovative edge.

“The essence of enterprise is value creation, delivery and capture. Our imagination is required in doing this. Every invention, whether local or global, stems from human creativity. ACID is here to help SMEs tap into that potential,” he stated.

Perpetua Mbanefo, a medical practitioner and participant, stated that she enrolled to learn strategies for repositioning her business. “I have learned a lot about creativity and how to position my business to stand out in the market. This experience has given me fresh insights on increasing revenue and improving strategy.”
