While being the highest award a filmmaker or an actor could receive in India, the story of Dadsaheb Phalke is not known to many. While the title of the film has not been revealed yet the film will be set against a backdrop of India’s independence struggle. The film will cover the legendary producer-director’s life story from the scratch and how the legend went on to shape the Indian film industry.
A statement released from Aamir Khan’s team reveals that the actor will start preparing for this movie after the release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par on 20th June.
“He will start preparing for his part soon after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. VFX studios from LA has already created AI designs for the era and period of the film,” the statement read.
The released statement from the team further revealed that the script had been in the works for almost four years now and includes, Abhijat Joshi, Hindukush Bharadwaj, Avishkar Bharadwaj, and the film director Rajkumar Hirani himself as writers.
“Rajkumar Hirani with Abhijat Joshi and two other writers Hindukush Bharadwaj and Avishkar Bharadwaj have been working on this script for the last 4 years. Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar has been supportive of the project and has provided major anecdotes from Dadasaheb Phalke’s life.”
During a fan interaction the actor revealed that his recently released movie Sitare Zameen Par is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par which featured Aamir Khan as an art teacher in a boarding school where a student struggling from dyslexia was sent by his parents.
