Festive fun as Romsey’s family-friendly Santa Run returns

Date:

The event, organised by Romsey Carnival, invited people to “work off some of that turkey (and make room for more!)” from 9.30am, when a warm-up began.

Joggers paid £4.50 to take part, and Santa suits were available for £10 – that is, until a generous sponsor stepped up to make them available free of charge.

Posting on Facebook, Romsey Carnival said: “A massive thank you to all who took part! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!”

The carnival committee organises a range of events throughout the year, including the Bed Race and the Winter Carnival & Lantern Procession, to raise money for good causes.

The carnival’s website says: “Every one of the committee team at Romsey Carnival has a deep passion for Romsey and its community.

“If you would like to help out or sponsor future events, we would love to hear from you.”

Freelance photographer Stuart Martin has captured the event.
