Gavin Williams, managing director at Southampton Airport, said: “The festive season is a special time for travel, and we’re delighted to help thousands of passengers start their celebrations.

“Whether heading home or jetting off for a winter break, our team is ready to make every journey smooth and enjoyable.

“We encourage everyone to arrive in good time and soak up the festive atmosphere at the airport.”

Popular destinations include Amsterdam, Glasgow, Dublin, Guernsey, and Belfast, offering city breaks and island escapes.

Passengers will also benefit from the airport’s new security process, which allows liquids up to 100ml, large electrical items, and other belongings to remain inside hand luggage.
