On July 2, a woman reported to Hampshire police that a man had exposed himself to her on the grounds of Watts Park.
Officers said she was “understandably distressed” and approached a nearby person for assistance, and they then contacted police together.
Once on the scene, police started gathering evidence, including reviewing local CCTV footage and identifying and arresting a suspect soon after.

A 67-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of exposure.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: “The investigation remains ongoing, and he has been released on bail under strict conditions, which will continue to be closely monitored, while we continue with enquiries.
“Throughout the summer, we have been conducting patrols across the parks, with a particular focus on offences such as this one.
“If you do see anything suspicious or something which raises concern, then please report this as our teams are out and we will take action.”
