CHAN 2024 to kick-off August 2 in Dar es Salaam

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committees of the three host nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, has released the Match Schedule for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (“CHAN”) 2024.

The tournament kick-off on Saturday, 02 August 2025 in Dar es Salaam with a fixture between co-host Tanzania and Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium at 8pm local time (17h00 GMT).

On Sunday, August 3, Nairobi will host two matches. Kenya will play their opening fixture at 3pm local time (12h00 GMT) against Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at the Moi International Sport Centre.

Morocco and Angola will face-off later at 6pm local time (15h00 GMT), at Nyayo Stadium.

At 8pm (17h00 GMT), action will return to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, where Madagascar will play Mauritania in a bumper Sunday of action.


The opening matches in Kampala will be played on Monday, August 4, 2025 when co-hosts Uganda play Algeria at 8pm local time (17h00 GMT), before Niger play Guinea at 5pm local time (14h00 GMT) at the same venue.

The third-fourth place play-off will be played in Kampala on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Mandela Stadium.

The kick-off for the 3rd place match is scheduled for 6pm local time (15h00 GMT).

The CHAN 2024 final will be played on Saturday August 30, by 6pm local time (15h00 GMT) at Nairobi’s Moi International Sport Centre in the suburb of Kasarani.
