The Administration of Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has signed a partnership agreement with China Civil Engineering Corporation (CCECC), as part of the initiative aimed at boosting Infrastructure Development in the State.
The agreement was signed during a high-level site meeting between Governor Radda and CCECC Managing Director, Cheng Sichang held in Macao, China, on the sidelines of the 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum and Exhibition organised by the company.
This was contained in a statement issued by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor which was made available to BusinessDay on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Governor Radda was said to have recounted major progress on the existing CCECC contract for urban renewal projects in the State, noting the successful inauguration of the 24-kilometer Eastern Bypass and the near-completion of the Kiddies to Kofar Soro road construction.
The governor was said to have used the occasion of the meeting to announce an ongoing plan to launch two additional legacy projects in the State, as well as ongoing move to effect compensation payments for people affected by demolition activities.
On the issue of the ongoing urban renewal work in the State, the statement stated that the governor called for timely completion of the project.
The governor, however, expressed gratitude for CCECC continued partnership with Katsina State Government including the strategic hosting of the State delegation in Macao.
Earlier, the Managing Director of CCECC, Cheng Sichang, managing director of CCECC, was said to have recounted some of the company major projects in the State, and across Nigeria since its establishment in 1979, when it began international operations in the 1980s.
