Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Portugal’s senior women’s national team in a high-profile friendly on Monday in Lisbon, as part of their preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco next month.

The Super Falcons are drawn in Group B of the 2025 WAFCON and will compete against Tunisia, Botswana, and Algeria at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.

The Super Falcons, nine-time African champions, eyeing a record-extending 10th continental title, departed Abuja for Lisbon on Sunday after a three-day training camp in Nigeria.

Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu led the training sessions, with key players like goalkeepers Chiamaka Nnadozie and Tochukwu Oluehi, defender Osinachi Ohale, midfielder Christy Ucheibe, and forward Francisca Ordega participating.

They will be joined in Lisbon by foreign-based stars including Michelle Alozie (USA), Ashleigh Plumptre (Saudi Arabia), captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Halimatu Ayinde, Jennifer Echegini, Toni Payne, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo, Rinsola Babajide, and Chinwendu Ihezuo.

The international friendly will be played at the Estádio José Gomes in Amadora, Lisbon, with kick-off set for 7:00pm Nigerian time.
