Thinkmint Nigeria & Europe, in partnership with Axial Pacific Limited, held the UK Real Estate Brunch in London, April 2025. The event focused on encouraging Nigerians and Africans living in the UK to consider property investment back home, using flexible payment plans and mortgage access.
The event brought together property professionals, developers, legal experts, and diaspora investors, aiming to close the gap between Nigerians abroad and the local real estate market. It addressed common concerns around security, transparency, and investment viability.
Dr Ayobami Alo, CEO of Axial Pacific Realty, explained how Nigerians abroad can navigate land allocation and construction frameworks. He emphasised the importance of “instant allocation” and working with firms that have a track record of fulfilling their promises.
Mrs Imelda Usoro Olaoye, CEO of Thinkmint Nigeria & Europe and Co-Founder of Green Mortgage, hosted the brunch and spoke about “the massive benefits that await anyone from the diaspora who will invest in Nigerian real estate.” She highlighted the platform Green Mortgage , which offers access to mortgages and payment flexibility. She also mentioned the potential returns on investment, from resale of off-plan properties to short-let opportunities.
Godwin Okri, MD/CEO of Menvo Homes and host of The Okri Property Show UK, delivered a keynote exploring how investing in Nigerian real estate contributes to national development. He provided practical guidance for Nigerians in the diaspora who want to secure their financial future through property ownership.
Monsurat Mohammed, Head of Help-To-Own Mortgage at Family Homes Funds, explained how the Nigerian government is working to provide affordable mortgages to citizens abroad.
The brunch also included presentations on real estate hotspots in Lagos and beyond, remote investment strategies, and legal considerations. Panellists addressed questions around securing property and avoiding common investment mistakes.
Through this event, Axial Pacific Limited and its partners provided clarity and access, showing that owning a home in Nigeria from abroad is possible, safe, and beneficial, both personally and economically.
