Deborra-lee Furness has broken her silence after filing for divorce from husband Hugh Jackman.
The Australian stars were married for almost 30 years after first tying the knot back in Victoria back in April 1996.
Now Correlli actress Furness, 69, has shared a powerful statement, saying she “remains grateful,” but has been navigating “the traumatic journey of betrayal”.

In a statement shared with Nine, Furness said: “My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal.
“It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”
She went on to talk about the end of her marriage, which saw the pair live in New York and adopt two children together.

“This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose.
“It is so easy to get lost in looking for love and validation outside ourselves, but that’s not where it lives — it lives within. Sometimes the universe has to create arduous circumstances for us to walk through in order to find our way home, back to our true essence and the sovereignty of self love.”
She went on to say she has found “liberation and freedom” post-split and is “grateful” for her life path.

“It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom,” she said.
“One thing I have learned is that none of this is personal, we are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random.
“We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognise and heal the broken parts of ourselves.”
She finished: “I remain grateful.”

DailyMail.com first reported the news that Furness had filed for divorce from Jackman, after they announced their split in September 2023.
At the time, the pair shared a statement with People that read in part: ”We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”
They added that their “family has been and always will be our highest priority”.
Since the split, Jackman is believed to be dating American actress and Younger star Sutton Foster, 50.
