Recent news revealed that the late actress Kim Sae Ron borrowed money from her celebrity friends after her DUI incident in May 2022, and has taken 100 million KRW each from three celebrity friends.

As per reports from SBS News, the Bloodhounds actress posted a message on her personal social media on September 8, 2024. The message was shared months before her death to give an insight into her life and financial struggles.

Think back on all that you received from me. My blood alcohol level was 0 from the breathalyser test. It was only the blood test that produced high results. But it was still the day before, there was no power outage, and I still compensated the merchants who were affected. Well, I will not suffer any longer.

Borrowed money

The three celebrity friends helped her financially, and out of the three friends, two of them are K-pop idols and one well-known singer. Each of them has lent her 100 million KRW. As per reports, these loans helped her during difficult times in her life.

Faced financial turmoil

After the DUI scandal, Kim Sae Ron faced financial turmoil and was fined 700 million KRW as a penalty from the creators of ‘Bloodhounds’ and the streaming platform where the show was hosted as well.

Medical bills

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron has also borrowed 50 million KRW from a non-famous friend and her agency at the time, Run Entertainment, loaned her 60 million KRW to help her pay for her medical expenses.
