The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended an invitation to Alex Onyia, chief executive officer at EDUCARE, to transparently conduct a thorough review of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, May 15.
Onyia disclosed the invitation via his official X handle @winexviv when he stated, “I received a formal invitation from JAMB for us to transparently conduct a thorough review of the 2025 JAMB exam. The review date is next tomorrow (Thursday).”
The edutech expert encouraged affected candidates in the 2025 UTME to be calm and hopeful, as he assured that make public his findings.
“If you have been troubled, keep calm. I’m hopeful that something positive will come out of it. You burnt candles, had sleepless nights, and had high hopes. We will not fail you!” he stated.

Fabian Benjamin, the public communication advisor at JAMB, in a letter signed on behalf of the registrar, sighted by BusinessDay, said the invitation is to buttress the board’s efforts to achieve public confidence, especially against the backdrop of the recent outcry in some quarters following the release of UTME results.
“In furtherance of the commitment of the board to achieve public confidence in its processes, especially against the backdrop of the recent outcry in some quarters following the release of the 2025 UTME result, the management of the board has approved your participation to be part of the review panel constituted to appraise the conduct of the examination with the mandate to identify challenges, if there are any, and proffer relevant recommendations to prevent a recurrence,” the letter reads.
Some of the conditions attached to his participation, according to the letter, include: that the review panel is to, among others, assess the release of the 2025 UTME, that his membership of the panel is at no cost to the board, and that the date for review is Thursday, May 15.
The panel members include; All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Chief External Examiners (CRRs), Computer Professionals of Association of Nigeria (CPN), Educational Assessment and Research Network, Vice-chancellors, Rectors of polytechnics, Provosts of Colleges of Education, other support staff of the board attached to the panel.
