Nigeria’s private sector credit extension remains significantly lower than that of its sub-Saharan African peers, despite recording a modest recovery in recent months.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s latest data, private sector credit rose by approximately 9 percent year-on-year to N76.3 trillion in March 2025, rebounding from a slight moderation observ
